Natel Energy’s mission is to restore rivers while generating reliable, renewable energy, motivated by the fact that climate change is water change. We do this through a combination of hardware, software and project development. Our hardware solutions are fish-safe, compact, high-performance turbines ranging from 100 kW to 3 MW, that produce reliable renewable energy while protecting or enhancing watershed ecosystems. Our software solutions combine satellite data and advanced machine learning techniques to provide more accurate, timely and efficient solutions for forecasting water resources and monitoring landscape change at the watershed scale. Our project development team finds, secures, develops and builds optimal projects deploying our technology solutions.

In that context, we are currently looking for a Sales Associate dedicated to the US market for the hardware solutions. The Sales Associate will reinforce the existing US sales team.

The Sales Associate  will support the team by driving sales opportunities for direct turbine sales on the US market (and possibly Canada) from origination to deal close. As part of a dynamic and agile team, you will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to Natel’s growth by contributing to the growth of Natel’s Hydro Turbine business in North America with a strong focus on the USA. Responsibilities

  • Originate turbine sales opportunities by screening, identifying and assessing any new turbine sales opportunity in the USA;

  • Have regular contacts and follow-ups with customers to have an accurate understanding of their needs and position the Natel Restoration Hydro Turbine (RHT) appropriately;

  • Manage the full sales cycle for the relevant opportunities, from screening through writing and submitting non-binding and binding proposals to contract negotiation and close;

  • Identify and coordinate with project partners if necessary;

  • Regularly report operational status of the US turbines sales opportunities to the management team;

  • Work closely with the rest of the commercial team (in particular the US sales team) to ensure that the best support is provided to customers;

  • Work closely with the engineering team to ensure that the best support is provided to the projects being developed by Natel’s customers;

  • Work closely with the project execution team to ensure proper handover from the sales phase to the execution phase;

  • Act as a representative of Natel towards customers and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in sales activity in the United States in the energy transition / renewable energy space. Prior hydro experience would be a plus.

  • A mechanical or electrical engineering background would be a plus.

  • Located in the United States; this position is not open to international candidates requiring sponsorship for work visa

Location & Travel

Remote with option of being based in Alameda, California. We conduct business using technologies like Slack, Google Suite, Asana and video conferencing. We do an annual in-person trip to our Alameda office to work, bond, and celebrate our successes. If you prefer to work in an office, this position could be staffed at our offices in Alameda, CA.

Travel. We are looking for someone with flexibility to travel to hydro power plants sites for meetings and conferences ~25% of the time on an as-needed basis.
